Man arrested after alleged cash-for-licences scheme uncovered in Limpopo.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with an alleged cash-for-driver’s licence corruption scheme at the Marble Hall Driving Licence Testing Centre in Limpopo.

A joint operation involving the South African Police Service (SAPS) Crime Intelligence and the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has resulted in the arrest of a suspect allegedly linked to the illegal issuing of learner’s licences.

The suspect was arrested by SAPS and was allegedly found in possession of several learner’s licences.

According to SIU spokesperson Selby Makgotho, the operation intercepted suspects from KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo who were allegedly on their way to collect learner’s licences that had been illicitly issued.
