Overstays will incur a charge of £1 per minute up to a maximum stay of 30 minutes, following a previous fee increase to £7 in late September 2025. Airport management stated the price hike aims to encourage the use of sustainable transport modes and maintain efficient traffic flow around the terminal. Drivers dropping off passengers in fully electric vehicles can receive a reduced tariff in Terminal Car Park 1, whilst the long stay car park offers two hours of free parking. According to RAC analysis, more than three-quarters of UK airports have introduced or raised drop-off fees over the past year, with Gatwick and Stansted charging the highest rate of £10.
