Thanjavur Corporation officials moved three tonnes of banned plastic products to a cement factory in neighbouring Ariyalur district.According to a civic body release, officials raided shops at Kizhavasal, Maattumaistry Lane, Vadakku Veedhi and the Ayyasamy Vandaiyar Memorial Bus Stand (Old Bus Stand) last week and seized banned plastic products such as ‘one-time use-and-throw’ bags, plastic-coated cups and coloured thin plastic sheets used to serve cooked food.The seized products, weighing around 3,000 kg, were moved to a cement factory in Ariyalur district.
