The purchases bring China's total U.S. soybean buying to nearly half of its 25-million-ton annual commitment through 2028

China bought roughly 1 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans this week, according to Reuters, citing four traders, as Chinese President Xi Jinping prepares for a visit to Washington later this month.
That activity has pushed China's overall U.S. soybean intake to just under half of the 25 million metric tons Beijing pledged to buy each year through 2028, according to Reuters. State-owned buyers Sinograin and COFCO are among the entities driving the activity, though neither responded to requests for comment.
