Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday forecast monsoon rains in upper parts of the country starting tomorrow, with temperatures expected to drop during the forecast period.
“Monsoon currents are penetrating upper parts of the country,” the Met Office said in an advisory, adding that a westerly wave was likely to enter the upper parts of the country during the weekend and strengthen on September 14.
In Kashmir, rain, wind and thundershowers are expected with isolated hailstorms in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur from Sept 12 to 17, with occasional gaps.
Rain accompanied by wind and thundershowers is also expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, and Attock during the same period, with occasional gaps.
Similar weather conditions are expected in Lahore, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Wazirabad, Hafizabad, Kasur, Okara, Nankana Sahib, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Noorpur Thal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Layyah, Bhakkar, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and surrounding areas starting Sept 12 evening, lasting till Sept 17 with occasional gaps.
