A key piece from Lady Di’s iconic wardrobe could soon be yours.

The black Christina Stambolian evening dress the late Diana, Princess of Wales, famously wore to a fundraising dinner at London’s Serpentine Gallery in June 1994 will be auctioned off by Sotheby’s this December.

Dubbed the “Revenge Dress” by the media, the silk strapless sent a powerful message at a moment when the princess was under intense public scrutiny. She wore it on the night that her ex-husband, then Prince Charles, whom she had been separated from for nearly two years, was due to admit on national television that he had been unfaithful to her with Camilla Parker-Bowles.
