Satellite images showed smoke rising near Saudi Arabia’s East-West oil pipeline, one of the kingdom’s key energy assets, Reuters has reported.
The news agency said Saudi authorities did not immediately report any incident at the site.
The East-West Pipeline has become increasingly important for Saudi Arabia during the Iran war, enabling state oil giant Aramco to ship crude from the kingdom’s eastern coast to the Red Sea on its western coast.
It offers an alternative route for sending crude through the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic global energy chokepoint.
