Charlie, 31, was shot and killed by a sniper at Utah Valley University a year ago during one of his signature “Prove me wrong” events.Events honouring the influential Turning Point USA founder were held across the country to mark the one-year anniversary of his death, including at the site of Charlie’s assassination.Charlie was also honoured in an inspiring tribute video played on Night Two of the Republican midterm convention in Dallas.Erika, 37, is not planning to mark the anniversary publicly.“Erika will mark the anniversary of Charlie’s death privately with her and Charlie’s two young children, their family, and close friends,” a family spokesperson said.“She is so grateful for the continued outpouring of prayers, love, and support as she and her family remember and honour Charlie as the beloved husband and father he was.”Erika, who was elected CEO of Turning Point USA shortly after her husband’s murder, made a surprise appearance at the GOP midterm convention Wednesday night.She didn’t speak at the convention, but was seated in the VIP section as President Trump delivered his keynote address.“I just want to say we love you, Charlie,” Trump said in his remarks.“She’s put up with something.
