Tit-whisperer Zack Polanski has officially secured the Green nomination for the Holborn and St Pancras by-election. Despite an internal row over whether the gig should go to a ‘global majority’ candidate, activists ultimately opted for the party’s leader. Polanski/Paulden will now take his travelling circus to the streets of central London.
The dentally challenged Green leader declared:
I am proud and honoured to have been selected for a byelection in the constituency where I have lived and worked for much of the past 20 years. I love this place and so do the people whose doors I’ve knocked on in recent days – but it can be even better. I know times are tough in Holborn and St Pancras. My story of constant moving around flats is such a common story for Londoners – and I know many people here are really struggling right now. I’ll fight to turn this around.
Quite how repeatedly changing flats/houseboats and failing to pay council tax qualifies Polanski to rescue Londoners from the housing crisis is unclear. Still, having already reinvented himself from a Lib Dem to hypnotherapist, breast-enlargement guru and eco-socialist firebrand, playing saviour of Camden should present little difficulty.
