Beijing-based start-up Moonshot AI, developer of the popular Kimi K3 model, is considering pursuing a listing in Shanghai following its planned Hong Kong IPO, as it seeks additional capital and exposure, the South China Morning Post reported, citing two people familiar with the matter.

Moonshot met with its financial backers in July to negotiate arrangements for the Hong Kong IPO, and has since hinted at options for a mainland listing, one of the sources reportedly said.

Increased exposure

On the mainland, Moonshot is likely to be considering Shanghai’s technology-focused STAR Market, which has seen recent listings from memory manufacturer CXMT and Unitree Robotics, with others expected from DeepSeek and memory maker YMTC.
