FALLONSpeaking alongside her husband Ronen on Thursday at the Republican National Committee midterm convention in Dallas, Orna Neutra - whose son Omer was killed on October 7 attacks - drew a direct line between the anniversary of September 11 and the ongoing conflict.Appearing with other families of hostages, Neutra recalled being pregnant in New York City during the 2001 attacks. "I was 8 months pregnant in New York City on that date," Neutra told the audience. "I remember walking across the Queensboro Bridge, focused on one thing only, carrying my unborn son to safety."Reflecting on the loss of her son, she added, "For our family, the connection to October 7th is impossible to ignore. The same hatred, the same glorification of murder, and the same responsibility to stand together against it."Trump says he does not regret Iran war despite impact it may have on midterm electionsPresident Donald Trump said he did not regret going to war against Iran despite the impact the conflict may have on the November U.S. midterm elections."I don't believe in the word 'regret.' Credit: Eduardo Munoz / ReutersWASHINGTON - Slightly more American voters say their sympathies lie more with Palestinians than Israelis, according to a new poll from Quinnipiac University, more evidence of the growing animosity toward Israel among the U.S. electorate.Thirty-eight percent of voters said they favored the Palestinians, compared with 35 percent of Israelis with the remainder expressing new preference. It's the first time in the history of Quinnipiac's regular polling that more Americans have favored Palestinians than Israelis.It builds on similar findings from Gallup, which has tracked sympathies for each side since 2002 and found Palestinians beating out Israelis — 41 percent to 36 percent — for the first time in February.But it's a sharp reversal from the immediate aftermath of the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel, when 54 percent of respondents told Quinnipiac researchers that they were more sympathetic to Israelis and only 24 percent sided with the Palestinians.Part of the shift comes from Republicans, who have historically been more supportive of Israel, becoming more supportive of the Palestinians.
