Among the many joyous images captured at the end of St Johnstone’s shock triumph at Ibrox on Sunday night was one particular photograph that caught the eye. In it, Zander Clark is embraced by Jason Kerr, who is chased by Ali McCann and Liam Gordon with Chris Kane in the background.
Clark was the hero of the hour with his miraculous extra-time header and his two saves in the penalty shoot-out. Kane was the goalscorer in that jaw-dropping final minute of additional time. Kerr was the captain who blasted home one of the spot-kicks to ensure that St Johnstone reached the Scottish Cup semi-finals at Rangers’ expense.
