The obvious Fantasy Premier League picks are usually easy to spot. This season, there seem to be a lot of viable options, especially in midfield. Sometimes, the best way to gain an advantage is by looking at players who are just as good as the popular picks but are flying under the radar for a lot of FPL managers. There are a few midfielders who aren’t receiving anywhere near the same attention as the big names but have plenty going for them, whether that’s because of their role, their underlying numbers, their fixtures or simply their price. They aren’t necessarily players you have to buy ahead of Gameweek Four, but I think these five names are well worth having on your radar/watchlist. Morgan Gibbs-White, Nottingham Forest (£7.9m) Morgan Gibbs-White is probably the most obvious name on this list but still feels strangely under-owned considering his previous season.He finished Premier League 2025-26 with 15 goals and four assists, collecting 188 FPL points and finishing as the third-highest-scoring midfielder in the game.Gibbs-White already has a goal and an assist three games into this season, and took a penalty against Liverpool in Gameweek Two, which is huge from an FPL perspective. The 26-year-old is already nailed to start if fit and will play 90 minutes in most games this season as Forest don’t have European commitments to juggle like last time, and while his team haven’t exactly set the world alight at the start of this campaign, that shouldn’t necessarily put us off him.
