Lee and Chow, the former chair and former vice-chair of the now-disbanded Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, have been in custody since 2021
A Hong Kong court sentenced pro-democracy activists Lee Cheuk-yan and Chow Hang-tung to seven years in prison for inciting subversion, citing their political activities against one-party rule.
The activists were involved in organizing vigils for the Tiananmen Square crackdown, which were previously tolerated but became illegal under the National Security Law enacted in 2020.
