New York Fashion Week 2026: Tory Burch brings vibrant spring collection to Isamu Noguchi’s Sunken GardenCelebrating the joy of getting dressed, the runway showcased rich textures and vivid colours, with Amanda Seyfried and Sandra Ng in attendanceDesigner Tory Burch couldn’t have chosen a more mesmerising location for her spring/summer 2027 show: Isamu Noguchi’s Sunken Garden, located deep below a pedestrian plaza smack in the middle of Manhattan’s financial district and surrounded by towering skyscrapers. Made of natural stones imported from Japan interspersed with water fountains, the garden was inspired by Ryōan-ji, the famous imperial garden in Kyoto.Embellishments everywhere at Tory Burch. Photo: ReutersWith plenty of embellishments, textures and patterns, the show was an ode to opulence. Jewel tones dominated a vivid palette where bright hues were beautifully paired with each other. The colour combinations – clashes, you may call them – were a joy to behold. The knitwear was outstanding: a series of cardigans with flower embroidery paired with pencil skirts stole the show, as did a couple of pleated dresses in pastel hues that will look great on any red carpet this award season.Colour blocking done the right way. Photo: ReutersBags and shoes – both categories at which Tory Burch excels – included a shopper version of the Lee Radziwill handbag and kitten-heel slingbacks in woven leather.Unexpectedly, the last look was a simple black coat that was the definition of a palate – or palette, in this case – cleanser.A practical handbag paired with chic knitwear. Photo: ReutersWhile it all sounds like a lot, the decorations never overwhelmed the clothes, which were some of the best the American designer has shown in recent years.
