Tehran (EFE).- Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, described on Thursday the resolution passed by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors against his country as “illegal” and “political.”
He warned that it would cause some countries to withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
“The resolution against Iran adopted by the Board of Governors is illegal, lacks technical basis, is purely political, and is unacceptable. It bears the clear mark of pressure exerted by the United States and the Zionists,” Rezaei wrote on X.
“The IAEA’s politicized and destabilizing actions will push countries to withdraw from the NPT,” he continued.
As of Wednesday, the IAEA’s Board of Governors adopted a resolution criticizing Iran for failing to meet its nuclear non-proliferation obligations and referred the matter to the United Nations Security Council.
