President Volodymyr Zelensky said the first results of the negotiations could emerge by the end of September. He suggested that these could include decisions on grain exports and energy.
The Ukrainian President said this while speaking to media representatives in Canada, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
“I think we will not have truly substantive negotiations during Russia’s election period (the parliamentary elections in Russia will be held on September 20 – ed.). We understand this, but at the end of September we will have an opportunity to meet with the American team in New York. During this period, every day my advisers and national security advisers are in contact with the American team,” Zelensky said.
He noted that there is a chance to “achieve the first results” of the negotiations by the end of September.
The President also recalled that he is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in New York at the end of the month.
