Helicopters have also landed nearby as part of the response.‌A statement from local police read: "Several people died in the accident involving the tour bus in Susch. Several people were also injured. Further information will follow."It follows an earlier message reading: "Between Susch and Zernez, a tour bus has had an accident. Various rescue organizations are on site."‌And a spokesperson said: "For relatives and consulates regarding the accident in Susch, a hotline is available. Please contact the Operations Control Centre of the Graubünden Cantonal Police on 081 256 56 56."The incident took place in the eastern Swiss canton of Graubünden on a stretch of road linking the villages of Susch and Zernez, deep in the Engadine valley.Content cannot be displayed without consent‌One witness told the local newspaper Blick: "I heard many sirens and several rescue helicopters while taking a walk in Susch. In a clearing, I was then able to see the accident site. It was probably a coach that had crashed."While another person said that they had seen a rescue helicopter landing at a hospital in Scuol, Graubünden, and said that she had also driven on the same stretch of road today where the crash happened."The accident was where there are road works with the road surface being redone. Only one lane is open at the moment for cars to pass," she said.‌It is reported that the coach belongs to Oad, a Dutch tour company that runs holiday trips across Europe.A spokesperson for the General Dutch Association of Travel Companies (ANVR) confirmed the vehicle was carrying 48 passengers from the Netherlands."These are Dutch customers of OAD.
