Sakshi Gallery is marking its 40th anniversary with ‘Of Being and Becoming’, an exhibition featuring over 46 artists across three generations at Travancore Palace in New Delhi.Curated by museologist and writer Manan Shah, the exhibition will open on Friday and continue till September 20. “Of Being and Becoming introduces audiences to the changing visual syntax of the last four decades, showcasing together both early and recent works by artists who have significantly shaped the landscape of visual arts in India,” Mr. Shah said.Artist Riyas Komu, whose work will feature at the event, said he has been associated with the gallery since his student days.“Sakshi was the first gallery that responded to my work,” Mr. Komu told The Hindu. He is showcasing ‘Walking Towards the National Museum II’, made between 2008 and 2026, using recycled wood, concrete, mild steel, stainless steel, adhesive and acrylic.
