Gemini now has a native Mac app in the first expansion beyond Android and iOS.
This “native desktop experience” is launched via an Option + Space keyboard shortcut. There’s also the Gemini spark in the Menu Bar. You get a pill-shaped “Ask Gemini” bar with Liquid Glass. The “Add files and tools” plus at the left lets you upload Files, Drive, Photos, and NotebookLM, as well as Share window.
You’ll find Tools at the bottom: Create image, Create video, Create music, Canvas, Deep research, Guided learning, and Personal Intelligence. The last four items are in the “More tools” submenu.
To the right, you’ll get the model switcher, voice input, and ability to bring up the full app.
Overall, this window is identical to gemini.google.com with the same side panel, which again leverages Liquid Glass. Everything is synced with your Google Account.
