Springbok scrumhalf Cobus Reinach wresltes for possession with All Blacks hooker Asafo Aumua in Soweto. Ahead of the fourth Test, New Zealand attack coach Mike Blair has called for cleaner ball possession at the breakdown for his side.
The All Blacks believe teams slowing down ball possession at breakdowns should not be coached by match officials with calls of “hands out” or “leave the ball”, but that there should be immediate action on these infringements.
Ahead of the fourth and final Test in Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry, New Zealand attack coach Mike Blair said that if players are doing something illegal at the ruck, they should be punished by the referees, instead of being allowed to slow the ball down.
They currently trail the Springboks 2-1 in the series, but the Test in Baltimore gives them the opportunity to salvage a draw should they bag a victory. However, after losing two matches in a row, they face a must-win Test on Saturday at M&T Bank Stadium (11pm kick-off SA time).
According to Blair, they know referees are under pressure.
