Alongside its very first folding smartphone, Apple just announced its newest lineup of smartwatches. The new Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 come centered around upgraded health-tracking systems that do an even better job at monitoring your heart rate, alongside new Siri features and an array of fresh colors. I’ve bought every Apple Watch over the past 12 years, and while some annual upgrades have left me wanting a bit more from my purchase, this year’s refresh has left a great first impression.
Apple Watch Series 12
Apple's newest flagship smartwatch comes with a new suite of internal sensors that help make it an even more valuable health-tracking companion. This year's refreshed model still comes in two sizes — a smaller 42mm or larger 46mm display — and can be personalized with several new colors. Preorders are now live ahead of shipping on Sept. 18.
Apple Watch Ultra 4
Apple's most capable wearable now includes a larger battery that can keep it tracking your runs, hikes and other workouts for as long as two days on a single charge. That's an extra six hours of usage compared to the previous-generation Ultra 3. The titanium smartwatch still has a more rugged design than the Series 12, as well as a larger and brighter display and satellite connectivity.
