Discussing his venture, Martin opened up about how "scary" it was to showcase himself in the documentary rather than behind a character.‌This led This Morning presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley to ask the actor about police drama, Line of Duty, in which he plays the role of Anti-Corruption Unit Detective Inspector Steve Arnott. Teasing major action for the upcoming series, Martin also shared that the story will be coming to an end.‌Sharing his perspective on what writer Jed Mercurio will do next, Martin said: "It's for Jed to say, it's not for me to say whether the show will ever end but I think it's fair to say that this is the end of the story arc that's been building since series one. Everything will come to a head on this one."Probing further, Ben asked: "But the last one was supposed to be the end of it."‌Martin replied: "Well, this is the end. I think it would be fair to say that this is the end." He added that Jed is looking to "wrap" things up in this season.Sharing details of the filming process, the Scottish actor revealed that it became one of the "hardest" series to shoot. He also confirmed that the storyline is "ambitious".‌After a five-year wait, Line of Duty has been rumoured to return for its seventh series in 2027. Actors Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar will also reprise their roles in the much-loved series.Speaking candidly to Radio Times at the 2026 Edinburgh TV Festival, Line of Duty producer Simon Heath spoke about the long wait for avid TV watchers. He said: "I think it was really important to have some time away from the show for everyone, and for us to kind of absorb the reaction, absorb events that have happened in the five years since.Article continues below"Then, Jed had that time to come up with a gangbuster story again, which he has, and I think it combines all the elements of Line of Duty that people have loved over the years. I'm hopeful that that it's it's going to land well again."The producer also teased: "There are plenty of surprises, and there are also some familiar faces.
