The National Democratic Congress presidential candidate for the 2027 election, Peter Obi, has promised that he would retain President Bola Tinubu’s naira float policy if elected.

Obi, however, said he would focus on increasing productivity to strengthen the currency and make it more valuable to Nigerians.

The former Anambra State governor disclosed this in an interview on Arise TV on Thursday.

When asked to name one policy of the Tinubu administration that he would retain if elected president, Obi said, “There’s one – the floating of the Naira. I’m not going to defend it. But I’m going to put productivity to make it more valuable to the people.”
