The need for coordinated action to drive shipping’s green transition was highlighted by Angeliki Frangou, chairwoman and CEO of Navios Maritime Partners, speaking at the 4th International Ship Financing Forum organised by the Export-Import Bank of China.She stressed that shipowners need to invest in more efficient vessels and new technologies, shipyards need to turn these requirements into competitive designs, and financiers need to support and insure innovative solutions.Classification societies, she added, also have a critical role to play in ensuring that innovation is safe and financeable.She emphasised that Navios, which operates a diversified fleet of more than 170 vessels, will continue to test and adopt technologies offering operational and environmental benefits, while also investing in a modern and efficient fleet.
