The enemy is attempting to capture Orikhiv and has massed around 150,000 troops in the area.
This was stated in a television interview by Serhii Skibchyk, press officer of the 65th Velykyi Luh Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.
According to him, the situation in the Orikhiv sector is difficult but under control. The line of contact has not changed.
“The only thing that has changed is the kill zone, which has grown significantly, and this is affecting our logistics. Orikhiv remains under our control, and the enemy’s occasional attempts to infiltrate the city end only with us having to bring in additional forces and equipment from neighboring assault units to destroy them,” he said.
Skibchyk added that, at present, the enemy is unable to mass large numbers of troops on the outskirts of Orikhiv and disrupt Ukrainian military logistics in the area. However, the invaders have formed around 120 assault groups. The press officer of the 65th Velykyi Luh Brigade specified that these groups are forces of Russia’s 58th Combined Arms Army, including the 19th and 42nd Motor Rifle Divisions.
