Google is to invest at least €13bn ($15bn, £11.2bn) in AI infrastructure in Finland, including a deal to purchase up to half the output of the Loviisa nuclear plant, in its biggest single investment in Europe to date, as tech companies scramble to build out data centres to power AI services.
The spending includes the construction of three new data centres, the expansion of an existing site and energy projects to support power provision.

The deal includes a 22-year contract with utility Fortum to buy power from a nuclear plant in Loviisa, in southern Finland, which currently generates about 10 percent of Finland’s energy.
