As the official campaigns for the 2027 governorship elections kicked off on Wednesday, candidates and their respective political parties have begun rolling out their manifestos.

From tackling insecurity to reforming the education, health and agriculture sectors, among others, the candidates are set to present their plans as Nigerians decide who will earn their votes.

In the face of the nation’s security challenges, the Nigerian Army, led by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has approved the redeployment of senior officers to key command, operational and staff appointments across the Service.

Also, the Dangote Refinery has alleged an abuse of power by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority over the latter’s directive to suspend propane loading and truck-out operations at the refinery. This has led to a court clash between the two, as the regulator raised concerns over the refinery’s quality and distribution of propane.
