Niger Delta youths have yet another opportunity to meet fortunes through skills empowerment and enterprise. This is because ‘Fasthire Services’, a subsidiary of Okverse Services Limited, has reaffirmed its commitment to helping young people access career opportunities, develop relevant skills and build sustainable livelihoods across the Niger Delta.
Richard Okiasi, the Fasthire Team Lead, who is also the NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs Coordinator for the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, made the call as a panellist at the 2026 International Youth Day event organised by the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The event, themed “Empowering Youth Through Career Pathways for Economic Development and Sustainable Peace in the Niger Delta,” brought together over 320 youths from Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Edo and Abia states.
Okiasi urged youths to reject dependency and entitlement mentality, embracing entrepreneurship, innovation, skills development and professional visibility as pathways to economic independence.
He encouraged young professionals to showcase their abilities and document achievements online and offline, particularly on LinkedIn, stressing that visibility builds credibility and attracts opportunities, investors and partnerships.
