Iran rocked by explosions as Trump says US-Iran war won't end until after midterm elections

Iranian state media reported blasts in Qeshm Island, Sirik and Minab in Hormozgan province, while explosions were also reported near King Fahd Air Base and in Taif, Saudi Arabia. Authorities in Hormozgan said sounds heard over Qeshm appeared to have originated from the sea.

Trump said oil prices, which have surged amid the conflict, are unlikely to ease before the midterms, and that the war would end “immediately” once the vote is over. He accused Iran of stalling in hopes of a shift in Washington.
