A suspected kidnapper arrested in connection with the abduction of a woman in Rivers State, Victor Ini, has claimed that he joined the kidnap gang after he was reportedly promised N40,000 payment.
The 35-year-old Ini disclosed this in an interrogation video shared on Wednesday by the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Blessing Agabe.
Ini, a native of Akwa Ibom State, said the gang planned to abduct the woman from her shop, collect money from her and later release her.
He added that the woman’s neighbour, identified as Chukwuebuka, allegedly sent them to attack her after telling them that she had money.
