The Dodgers had said Ohtani was expected to be in the lineup Wednesday against the Cincinnati Reds after receiving the day off on Tuesday. He has appeared just once since being shut down, going hitless with a walk and two strikeouts in four plate appearances on Monday.Both Ohtani and the Dodgers have acknowledged that he is still less than 100 percent because of ailments dating back to at least June.“Talking to training staff, it’s more of the thought of, ‘Let’s build him up slowly,’” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts explained Tuesday afternoon.This story will be updated.
