During takeoff at an airport in Moldova on Tuesday, a drone nearly struck the plane carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as he was en route to Oslo for the funeral of the King of Norway.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre reported this on Wednesday during an appearance on the public television channel NRK, according to Reuters, as reported by Ukrinform.
“His plane was nearly struck by a drone as he was about to fly out of Moldova. That’s the reality he faces,” Støre said.
The Norwegian prime minister did not disclose the source of this information or how close the drone had come.
