Badejo Olawumi, a professor of Guidance and Counselling has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), taking over the leadership of the institution from Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, the ninth vice-chancellor of the university.

Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos State commissioner for Information and Strategy, made this known on Wednesday, September 9, in a statement announcing that Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the executive governor of Lagos State has approved the appointment of Badejo as new vice-chancellor for LASU.

“Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of BADEJO Ayodeji Olawumi (Nee Faji) as vice- chancellor of the Lagos State University (LASU),” the statement reads. BADEJO Ayodeji Olawunmi, a professor of Guidance and Counselling, was born on August 4, 1962.

She obtained a Ph.D in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and M.Ed. (Guidance and Counseling), UNILAG.
