The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has remitted N21.5 billion to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria as part of preparations for the 2027 Hajj operation.
The Executive Chairman of the agency, Alhaji Faruk-Aliyu Yaro-Enabo, disclosed this on Wednesday when a delegation of NAHCON led by its Commissioner for the North-West, Sheikh Muhammad Usman, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Nasir Idris at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
Yaro-Enabo said the state had registered 3,257 intending pilgrims, representing 95 per cent of its registration target and reportedly the highest number recorded by any state for the forthcoming pilgrimage.
He said the agency had also achieved 85 per cent remittance of Hajj fares to NAHCON, adding that the outstanding N5 billion would be paid within a few days, ahead of the September 26 deadline for registration.
