Springboks wing Ethan Hooker, Player of the Match in the third Test at FNB Stadium, dominated the aerial battle against the All Blacks.
Rassie Erasmus has strongly hinted that the Springboks will adopt a more positive, attacking mindset against the All Blacks in Saturday’s fourth and final Greatest Rivalry Test.
The Boks entered the series with an obvious mission: smother the All Blacks’ creativity with a power game.
“TonyBall” was effectively put on ice as the Boks reverted to their route-one approach, but the strategy spectacularly backfired in the opening Test at Ellis Park. The All Blacks ran in five tries to one in a convincing 33-16 victory.
The Boks were more positive in Cape Town, scoring three tries in their 33-26 victory, and went another step further in Soweto last weekend, crossing for four tries in their thrilling 29-24 win.
