Ahead of the Tishrei holidays and to summarize the past year, the Caesar Hotel Chain, in collaboration with the Maagar Mochot research institute, conducted a survey examining the vacation and hospitality habits of Israelis in the country and abroad. The study looked at how they select a hotel, the information sources that lead them to book, and the factors most important to them during their stay.
The survey shows that despite the Israeli affinity for vacations abroad, hotels in Israel continue to occupy a central place in leisure habits. Thirty-four percent of Israelis stay at hotels in Israel several times a year, and another 31% do so once a year. In other words, 65% of Israelis stay at a hotel in Israel at least once a year.
Abroad, by contrast, 25% of Israelis stay at hotels several times a year and 31% once a year. Eight percent of respondents said they do not stay at hotels abroad at all, compared to only 3% who do not stay at hotels in Israel.
How do Israelis book hotels?
One of the most prominent figures in the survey concerns how Israelis book their vacation. Seventy-three percent of respondents noted that they book their hotel independently using the internet or an app. Only 3% use a travel agent, 10% make the reservation directly with the hotel over the phone, and another 10% arrive as part of a group, workplace, or other organization.
