Youth Congress activists from the Kaipamangalam and Nattika constituency committees on Wednesday march with a coffin to the newly constructed toll plaza at Nattika on NH 66, protesting against the national highway authorities and the contractor for putting travellers’ lives at risk.

Protesting the rising number of accidents and deaths on National Highway 66, the Youth Congress units of the Nattika and Kaipamangalam Assembly constituencies in Thrissur organised a coffin march at Nattika on Wednesday (September 9, 2026).The march was inaugurated by District Congress Committee (DCC) general secretary Shobha Subin. As part of the protest, Youth Congress activists also distributed warning cards to motorists, urging travellers to exercise caution while using the accident-prone highway.The protest was led by Youth Congress Nattika Assembly constituency president A.V.
