Vijay Salgaonkar is all set to come back to the big screen this October. Ajay Devgn's simple everyday man will keep the audience guessing about his next move and continue to drive IG Meera Deshmukh bonkers very soon. The third instalment of the hit film franchise will arrive at the big screens on October 2. Meanwhile, the producers dropped the trailer. In the beginning of the trailer, Tabu’s character Meera is seen asking Saurabh Shukla’s character what Vijay will do, to which he shakes his head and states, "Only Allah knows…” In another scene, Meera is seen conversing with her husband, Mahesh, who says he wants justice for their son, Sameer (who was killed by Vijay’s daughter, Anju, in the first film), to which she grimly states that she is not out for justice but revenge. In another scene, Prakash Raj’s character, lawyer Indrajith Shetty, says that while Vijay may be illiterate, he’s not stupid, and he won’t take him lightly. Devgn is also seen dealing with another man in uniform determined to take him down – SP (Crime Branch), played by Jaideep Ahlawat, who describes himself as "personification of bad luck!”In another scene, Vijay, looking exhausted, is seen telling his family that he is not playing a game of wits but a game of fate. The trailer ends with a moment of electrifying drama when Ajay Devgn responds calmly to Ahlawat’s character, who threatens he would drag his family and slander them in public: “You can't imagine what an ordinary man can do to protect his family.”Like Drishyam 2, the movie will be helmed by Abhishek Pathak and will depict Vijay Salgaonkar, a mild-mannered man who continues to outwit the police to protect his family from jail after his daughter accidentally murders a boy who was harrassing her. The film franchise is an official remake of the blockbuster Malayalam series of the same name.When Drishyam 2 was released on November 18, 2022, it was well welcomed by critics who praised the acting, writing, editing, and cinematography. Within six days of its release, the movie became a member of the 100 Crore Club in India and earned Rs 100 crore worldwide in just four days. Drishyam 2 became the second highest-grossing Hindi movie of 2022, earning Rs 345 crore globally.
