SES, a global satellite-based content and connectivity solutions provider, has expanded its presence in Chennai with a new office in the city.

Building on its acquisiton of Intelsat, SES inaugurated its Chennai office in April 2025, and since then, the company’s workforce in India has tripled to more than 600 employees, in an indication of Chennai growing as a strategic hub for SES’ talent needs.

The new facility, which was inaugurated on Tuesday, is said to be almost double the size of the older facility and has a capacity to accommodate more than 600 employees. Teams across software centre of excellence, finance, customer operations, HR, etc are all being expanded here.

For SES, India is not just a satellite communications market. The company also supports leading broadcasters, government institutions, and enterprises across the country with its geosynchronous earth orbit (GEO) fleet and medium Earth orbit (MEO) constellation of satellites.

Through tie-ups with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and other local partners, the Luxembourg-based company has been delivering satellite TV and data connectivity services including e-banking, telemedicine, e-governance across the country.
