The 83rd edition of the Venice International Film Festival is underway, and there’s still plenty to look forward to.

After opening in style with George Clooney receiving the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement recognition and the world premiere of “Ink” — the new movie directed by Danny Boyle and starring Jack O’Connell, Guy Pearce and Claire Foy about Rupert Murdoch’s acquisition of the daily newspaper The Sun — the event is poised to continue to gain steam through the grand finale and closing ceremony scheduled for Sept. 12.

While “Bucking Fastard” by Werner Herzog starring Kate and Rooney Mara and Orlando Bloom and “Wild Horse Nine” with John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell, Steve Buscemi and Parker Posey have also already been unveiled, the upcoming days promise to draw to Venice’s landmark Lido the likes of Penélope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Robert Pattinson, Alicia Vikander and Susan Sarandon, just to cite a few.
