Russia and North Korea have opened their first road bridge across their shared border, creating a new transport link between the two countries as Moscow and Pyongyang deepen their economic and strategic cooperation.

The Russian government said the bridge can accommodate up to 300 vehicles a day, with cargo traffic beginning immediately and passenger use expected to follow later this year.
The bridge was inaugurated on Monday, September 7, during simultaneous ceremonies in the two countries.
