A British woman has reclaimed her Guinness World Record after eating a burrito in just 30.75 seconds.Competitive eater Leah Shutkever, 36, from Birmingham, already had 42 world records to her name when she set out to take back her burrito crown.Among her achievements are eating a Domino's pizza in under a minute and a chocolate orange in 57 seconds.Ms Shutkever held the burrito eating record for three years from 2019 until 2022 she was beaten by American speed eater Miki Sudo – who scoffed down the lunchtime favourite in 31.47 seconds.Determined to claim back her title, the British eater travelled to Guinness World Records HQ in London where she made it a wrap and knocked more than one second off the American's time.But Leah's plate was not yet clean as she went on to set two more World Records. Leah Shutkever, 36, took less than 31 seconds to eat a burrito, reclaiming her World Record she first won in 2019She now holds the records for most churros eaten in one minute, wolfing down eight of the treats, as well as the most strawberries eaten in one minute after demolishing 613g of the berries - equivalent to around 40 average-sized strawberries.The self-confessed gym addict has competed in eating contests around the world representing the UK.In 2019, she appeared on Battle of The Supereaters: 3,000 calories a minute, on Channel 4.It was on the programme on national television that she initially set her burrito world record and was determined to come back and claim the title which brought her notoriety. She said: 'My origin story of breaking Guinness World Records titles is one that I'll never get bored of.'I had newly started up a YouTube channel doing food challenges, and I found an official record of fastest time to eat a Chocolate Orange, and I had a go, filmed it for YouTube, posted it, and thought nothing else of it.'I was contacted by a TV show that was filming, and they wanted me to officially attempt the record on a stage with an Adjudicator. I managed to break the record and I've never in my life felt a level of euphoria like it, and I've chased that feeling ever since.'Ms Shutkever revealed that her passion for fitness came after being an 'overweight kid' and realising about nutrition in adulthood. The self-confessed gym addict trains nearly every day in order to keep in shape in between eating challengesShe said that she goes to the gym six times a week to keep in shape in between the mammoth challenges.She said: 'Fitness is my life and identity, it's what I have always done, but competitive eating is my job, and I like to keep them both running equally in my life. I love going through life with people looking at me and having no idea what I do for a living.'I was an overweight kid, and very early on in my life I learnt a lot about nutrition and fitness, I was into sports and kept active. In terms of eating, it all boils down to calories in versus calories out, and everything in moderation.'Breaking records is one of the proudest experiences of my entire life and that is including having a degree in architecture. Achieving my degree was nice, but breaking record holds such a gravity that I can't even explain.'
