Even more so when considering the possibility of Louisville climbing in the standings if they continue to play as they did in the second half against Ole Miss. The Rebels' maintaining their spot in the top 10 says a lot about what the AP voters think of an Ole Miss team that still has to play against five teams currently ranked in the top 25.In the order Ole Miss plays them, the five ranked opponents left on the Rebels' schedule are No. 8 LSU, No. 23 Missouri, No. 4 Texas, No. 2 Georgia, and No. 11 Oklahoma. Assuming Ole Miss wins all of their non-ranked matchups, the Rebels will likely have to go at least 3-2 against their ranked opponents to make the College Football Playoff. The earliest of the ranked games is September 19, when Lane Kiffin and No. 8 LSU return to Oxford. AP voters seem impressed with LSU's dominating win against Clemson, moving LSU up to No. 8 and ahead of Ole Miss from their preseason ranking of No. 11.Ole Miss isn't likely to move much this week, at least not thanks to their own play, considering they're playing Charlotte. The Rebels are going to want to use this week to get healthy and prepare, both mentally and physically, for LSU and the upcoming rigorous SEC schedule.Sign up to our free newsletter and follow us on Facebook and X for the latest news.Add us as a preferred source on GoogleFollow
