French police are hunting for a pair of thieves who stole Renoir paintings worth millions of pounds from a museum in the French Riviera.
The robbers managed to cut through a metal fence at the back of the Renoir Museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer just before 6am in the morning.
But the heist did not go entirely to plan: they were identified on CCTV – and then dropped two of the paintings in the museum’s gardens in their rush to get away.
