Universal’s Snoop Dogg biopic is amping up its supporting cast with SwayvoTwain (“Family Legacy,” “Love & Neo-Soul: Honoring the Legacy of D’Angelo”) set to portray Biggie, Bentley Green (“The Land,” “Undercard”) to play RBX and G Perico (“Kings of L.A.,” “She Ball”) as Big Reecie Cup.
Jonathan Daviss stars in “Snoop,” which is described as the “definitive biopic of the entertainment mogul and icon,” Snoop Dogg.
Christopher Wallace, aka the Notorious B.I.G., was one of the most influential hip-hop artists of the ’90s and the face of East Coast gangsta rap until his death in 1997. Despite being signed to West Coast powerhouse Death Row Records, Snoop and Biggie shared mutual respect. RBX, whose real name is Eric Dwayne Collins, signed with Death Row in the ’90s alongside his cousin Snoop, launching a rap career that spanned 30 years and multiple hit records. Big Reecie Cup is another key figure in Snoop’s Long Beach roots.
Craig Brewer (“Hustle and Flow,” “Song Sung Blue”) is directing “Snoop,” which Universal dated for theatrical release on Aug. 6, 2027, based on his rewrite of Joe Robert Cole’s (“Black Panther, “”Wakanda Forever”) original script.
The trio of emerging actors add to the film’s starry ensemble, which also features Myles Bullock Be (as Dr. Dre), Lauren London (Snoop’s late mother, Beverly Tate), Camron Jones (Tupac Shakur), Algee Smith (Warren G), Tre Hale (Suge Knight), Laya DeLeon Hayes (Snoop’s wife, Shante Broadus), Olly Sholotan (Kurupt), Corey Champagne (Nate Dogg) and Jonica Booth (The Lady of Rage).
