The co-founder of Palestine Action, Huda Ammori, has criticised the UK government's hypocrisy in proscribing the direct action group as a "terrorist" organisation while claiming to stand up for international law by banning trade with Israeli settlements.
“Britain has no issue with sanctioning and criminalising its own citizens for disrupting the Israeli weapons industry during a genocide,” Ammori said in a post to X.
Replying to a post by a Bloomberg journalist who said British diplomats told the US that the UK’s new Israeli settlements policy is “largely symbolic”, she argued that London’s new sanctions on Israeli settlements don’t go far enough, calling them “symbolic” and “ineffective”.
Thousands have been arrested, mostly pensioners, for holding placards in protest at the ban on Palestine Action.
Britain has no issue with sanctioning and criminalising its own citizens as terrorists for disrupting the Israeli weapons industry during a genocide.
