Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will visit Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district on Wednesday to participate in the ‘Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku’ programme, distribute pattadar passbooks and interact with farmers on land and revenue-related issues.
Mr. Naidu will participate in a Gram Sabha at Panduvaaripeta village in the P. Gannavaram Assembly constituency, where he will explain the government’s initiatives to protect land rights, resolve re-survey issues and strengthen land records.
A key proposal before the government is to remove residential ground rent lands in parts of the district from the prohibited properties list under Section 22-A(1)(b) of the Registration Act. The lands have continued to face restrictions on transactions because of their old revenue classification, despite having been used for residential purposes for decades.
The proposal seeks to treat such lands on a par with Gramakantham lands and create a special category for their removal from the 22-A list. If approved, it is expected to benefit 1,416 families covering 1,281 survey numbers in Amalapuram, Ambajipeta, Mummidivaram and Ramachandrapuram.
The proposal also covers Jayanthi Nagar in Machavaram village, where 32 eligible residents have been identified.
