Telangana Housing Board has initiated the process of refunding ₹10,000 earnest money deposit (EMD) to applicants of Indiramma Housing towers in Hyderabad (CURE) who were not selected in the draw of lots. The amount would be credited to the same accounts used for transfer the EMD during the application stage. The process would be completed in a week.A few people who paid ₹10,000 in cash or through others accounts have requested the Board to refund the amount to the applicants. Board’s Vice-Chairman V.P. Gautham said that measures towards this would be taken. People have to apply for this through the Board’s website by Thursday (September 10, 2026). Altogether, over 60,000 people applied for the government’s 7,340 affordable flats in 16 Assembly constituencies in Core Urban Region (CURE). Besides ₹100 application fee, people had to pay ₹10,000 during application. While government would provide subsidy of ₹5 lakh, people have to pay ₹6lakh each as their share to own a flat. Constituency-wise draws were held to select nearly 10,000 beneficiaries and people for the waiting list. Currently, field-level verification of beneficiaries’ eligibility is underway. Allotment letters would be issued after the process. The details on how the beneficiaries have to pay ₹6 lakh as their share to own the flat, the account it has to be deposited and other details would be mentioned in the letter, the Vice Chairman said.
