These cars are disappearing from South African showrooms soon

All good things come to an end. It's over for the Land Rover Discovery Sport, Audi A1 and Honda Civic.

All good things come to an end, they say, and in the cut-throat world of vehicle sales, not all models stand the test of time.

To that end, 2026 sees the curtain drawn on a number of models that were competent in their own right, but ultimately no longer considered feasible for further international development or for local sale.

Chief among these is the Land Rover Discovery Sport, which is being discontinued internationally, with production set to end at JLR’s Halewood plant in the UK in December this year.

The Discovery Sport is still listed for sale in South Africa and will likely remain on sale beyond its international discontinuation date until stocks run dry.
